Game by Someone Else's Rules: a Quest Scenario as an Object of the Authorship Attribution
Abstract
The authorship attribution of quest scenarios is discussed as an expertcase study. The expert has been assigned a task which involved tracing the signs of copying and revising of one text in another. The genre approach is employed: a description of important structure elements and linguistics characteristics of the quest scenario is given. The expertise is performed as per procedure of authorship examination: separatestudy of the texts, comparative study and the conclusion. The research has arrived at the conclusion, that the authorship attribution of the quest scenario, focused on the determination of the signs of copying and revising of one text in another,is similar in methods and features to a trademark expertise, because it also involves identifying similarity or difference of structures and semantic elements of the texts.
